Paid every Monday through Stripe, for earnings more than 7 days old, once you’re owed $10. Paid in US dollars. If your bank account is in another currency, Stripe converts it; Runcrate pays Stripe’s fees.

Set up payouts

Runcrate pays you through a Stripe Connect Express account. Stripe checks your identity and collects your tax forms, so Runcrate never handles them.
1

Choose your bank's country

On Payouts, pick the country your bank account is in. Stripe fixes it for the account, so it can’t be changed later.
2

Set up payouts with Stripe

Choose Set up payouts. Stripe asks for your company’s details, your bank account and your tax details, then sends you back to the dashboard.
3

Wait for Stripe's check

Stripe checks what you sent. If it needs more, the Payouts page lists what in plain words, such as a photo ID or details of your company’s owners and directors, and Continue with Stripe takes you back to finish. Once Stripe is done, the Payouts page shows Payouts on.
Open Stripe dashboard on the Payouts page opens your Stripe account, where you can change your bank details and see each transfer.

What a payout covers

A payout is what you earned and haven’t been paid yet, less any downtime refunds and any negative balance. An amount under $10 carries over to the next Monday. Runcrate pays earnings from money customers have already paid. Earnings from a rental the customer hasn’t paid for yet wait in your balance until they do.

Held payouts

When payouts are held, the dashboard says why instead of a payout date, with the fix as the action:
  • Held: we are checking your company. Runcrate screens every new host against sanctions lists, usually within 1 business day. Nothing to do: payouts start at the next Monday after the check.
  • Held: no payout account yet. You haven’t set up payouts with Stripe. Fix: Set up payouts.
  • Held: Stripe needs details from you. Stripe can’t pay out until you send what it asks for. Fix: Continue with Stripe.
  • Held: Stripe is checking your details. You sent what Stripe asked for. Nothing to do: payouts start once Stripe is done.
  • Held: your host account is suspended. Runcrate suspended the account and tells you why, unless the law or security prevents it. Fix: Write to support.
If the account owner leaves the workspace, payouts are held until support moves the host account to a new owner. Fix: Write to support. Your earnings stay in your balance while a payout is held, and are paid at the next Monday after the hold ends, unless the law requires Runcrate to keep holding them.

A failed payout

A payout that fails shows why on the Payouts page, with what happens next:
  • Stripe can’t send money to your account. Fix: Open Stripe dashboard and correct your details. Runcrate tries again 1 hour later, then 6 hours later, then every 24 hours.
  • A problem on Runcrate’s side. Runcrate tries again at the time shown. Nothing to do.
  • Runcrate is checking the payout. It shows as Held, with no date. Nothing to do.
The page adds up the payouts that haven’t gone out as Payouts not sent. The money stays yours until it is paid.

Downtime refunds

If a rented machine is down because of your machine, network or power, the customer isn’t billed for that time and Runcrate takes back what you earned for it. A machine that misses its reports for 60 seconds counts as offline. Planned maintenance on on-demand and reserved GPUs counts as downtime too.
  • Each downtime refund shows in your ledger.
  • If one is found after that day was paid out, it comes off your later payouts.
  • If that leaves your balance negative, it carries into your later payouts. Runcrate never charges or invoices you; a negative balance is only taken from future earnings.
Downtime refunds are your only financial liability for downtime.

Statements

Runcrate updates your ledger every hour: for each rental, the GPU, the tier, the start, the hours and what you earned, with each downtime refund and payout. Each month there is a statement on the Payouts page:
  • CSV: every ledger row of the month, ready for a spreadsheet;
  • PDF: the month’s totals, rentals and payouts.
Customers are never named in your ledger or statements.

Taxes

You are responsible for the taxes on your income and on the capacity you supply. Stripe collects your tax forms for your payout account. If the law requires Runcrate to withhold tax from a payout, Runcrate pays it to the tax authority and it counts as paid to you.
